harleyrrt Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I have a 96' LS 400. The electric fan is not working. I have checked the fan itself and it works by hotwireing it. I have checked what I think is the fuse under the hood, it is a 30A and it is good. There is power to the fuse. Still no fan with a/c on and it gets hot ideling for longer than normal periods of time. Runs normal temp all other times. Any suggestions???
steve2006 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 The cooling fan has 2 relays controlling it one is switched by the coolant temperature switch and the other by the air con pressure switch the common item here which would result in both circuits failing is the 15A fuse marked " heater fuse" located at the rear of the parking brake release lever. This fuse supplies both relays to the fan. If you can read the diagram here's a link to it ( the fuse concerned is on the top left of the diagram) http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e191/ste...olingfancct.jpg
