dgilmer
I have a 2002 RX300 and I want to get it tow ready. I'm planning on pulling a tent trailer -- total loaded weight approximately 2500 lbs. Here is what I'm planning on doing. Please let me know if you have any experience with modifying an RX to tow. How much can I expect to pay for modifications? Am I making the right modifications? I'll be towing through some mountains (northern AZ) and only 10 times a year -- do you think my RX can handle this? Please let me know your experiences and opinions. THANK YOU!! 2JZTWIN TURBO
Don't forget trailer wiring. Toyota has a kit #08921-48070-A.
lenore
Friends of mine have towed a tent trailer for 8 years on their 1999 RX300. No problems. The tranny failed finally, but was at 160k miles... Just change your fluid every 15k miles on the tranny, and you are good to go.
GDixon
Do a search of this site for more information. Try this link for a post I wrote some time ago. It applies to your vehicle as well. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...43&hl=hitch
