DANDAGS4MAN
I got my ball joints and tierod (one side only) replaced on my 99 GS400. The ABS,VSC,VSC OFF lights have been on ever since the maintenance. I've read on other forms that it could be the ABS sensor disconected or broken? However I'm not a mechanic by any means, so does anyone have any idea how to verify this without a scan tool? Another thing is when I switch the GS into reverse or 2nd gear (mannual or automatic), I hear a click/snap noise coming from the back wheel (i.e turn car on, switch gear - CLICK)?????? Any ideas??????
smooth1
yeah, sounds like they forgot to reconnect the sensors. I would just take it back to them and they should be able to reconnect them for you. The clicking noise could be a u joint off the drive shaft. Could be a differential issue, or it could be a bearing issue, it could even be a worn suspension component moving when you initialize force on it. There really is no way to diagnose that issue over the forum. Maybe you could have the wife drop it into gear while you stand next to it, and listen for where the sound is coming from. Have her do it a few times until you identify exactly where it's coming from.
