zephyr893
Hello there. Making a long story short, I was driving my father's SC430 yesterday, parked it, locked it from the key remote, went to go back in it, and nothing happened. I tried everything -- pressing unlock several times, trying the key in the actual door (which turned, but didn't open it), etc. I happened to be at a body shop, ironically, and they couldn't figure it out either. The guy banged the key around in case the key battery was loose, had their mechanic take the key apart and put it back together, called an expert electrical guy they do business with AND the local Lexus dealer. No one could figure it out. No one has ever heard of such a thing. I had just drove it, everything was fine, no warning lights, nothing. Just in a matter of one minute, the car went unresponsive. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Does anyone have any suggestions? It's much appreciated. Thanks!
mysc430onli
This probably isn't the answer because you locked it when you left the car but thought I'd mention it. There's a switch in the glove compartment. Is there any chance that you or anyone else had inadvertently hit the switch?

But I only had the car a matter of days while my car was getting fixed, and hadn't even opened the glove compartment, let alone gone in it. mysc430onli
I re-read the post and you said you even tried putting the key in. That sounds very strange. I wonder if he tried with the other key or valet key. Maybe the the key went bad. Hopefully he posts the results so we know for future. SKperformance
So the key turns but wont unlock the door latch? Do you see any movement inside the door when you turn it such as the lock knob moving? It may be someone tried to steal/tow the car and has bent the arm causing it to not move out of the locked position as well as re locking the passenger door as well. Does the alarm beep still or unlock the trunk?
