sashkarus
I have a 2003 IS 300 5 speed and everytime i fuel up i cannot start the car first try, always on the second or sometimes the third. And once in awhile the check engine comes on and the "Trac Off" blinks until i hook up the obd reader and erase the engine light. The code that the obd reader says is PO 440, 441 Incorrect evap flow or something like that. Would anybody have a clue what this would be the cause from? Alex Usually that code is thrown when someone forgets to put the gascap back on and starts the car causing a pressure leak in the gas tank. If it keeps coming on try replacing your gascap. good luck
bartkat
The above is correct. Make sure you turn the cap a few clicks whe replacing after refuling. Also there are some hoses for the evap under the air filter box that go to the canister. Sometimes there may be a loose one or a leak. sashkarus
i always turn the gas cap until it clicks a good 5 times.. . i checked the hoses for the evap thing thats attached to the filter box and seemed to be in place and tight. the engine light came on again and i wrote exactly what it said this time: PO446: Evaporative Emission System vent Control Circuit ???anyone see or had that before??? bartkat
Here's a thread that covers some fixes for that. http://my.is/forums/f88/cel-codes-need-fix-311919/ Some fixed by installing new gas cap and resetting the ECU. Others were the electrical connections on the evap system sensor wiring.
