Oil Smell/cover Gasket Replacement

SAM-RX

Recommended Posts

I am having a burnt oil smell and I looked upward on the engine from underneath the passenger side and I can see the head cover leaking. So I think if I replace the gasket on both covers it should be OK.

Has anyone tried to take apart the intake-wipers and everything to get to the back head cover gasket?

I really appreciate it.

LOL

After I readmy email I realized how confusing I was LOL

I meant the wipers and intake. I realized that there is not much space to work so I figured I have to take apart the wiper blades and motor and all the plastic then go down and take apart the intake

Has anyone done that? Any tips :S

Thanks

I've done it a many times. Here's a PDF for engine removal, it's not what you're doing but has some steps on the cowl removal. Just make sure to use to Toyota/Lexus FIPG on the corners of the head when you put the valve covers back on.
