  1. LOL After I readmy email I realized how confusing I was LOL I meant the wipers and intake. I realized that there is not much space to work so I figured I have to take apart the wiper blades and motor and all the plastic then go down and take apart the intake Has anyone done that? Any tips :S Thanks
  2. I am having a burnt oil smell and I looked upward on the engine from underneath the passenger side and I can see the head cover leaking. So I think if I replace the gasket on both covers it should be OK. Has anyone tried to take apart the intake-wipers and everything to get to the back head cover gasket? I really appreciate it.
  3. I had the vent motor tryign to adjust the vents on its own, once i unplugged the control wire plug to the motor the rotating noise went away therefore i found the culprit take out the glove box, few screws and pop it out, u need to look down and there is a white plastic bracket, the 2 motors are there, there are 2 vent motors, mine that was makign the noise was the secodn one on the left. hope this helps :s
  4. By the way, I stripped one of the screws :( I got the screw extractor from sears and used in on 2 of the iacv screws even though only one was stripped. IT WAS PIECE OF CAKE with the sears tool. I think it is alot better than trying the screw driver, worked out great with me unfortunately now I have to get replacement 2 screws but that shouldnt be hard... good luck you all
  5. Currently I have 116Kmiles on mine, as a preventative maintenance I drained the transmission fluid then dropped the transmission pan (18 scews) and then took out the filter and replaced with new one then re filled the trasmission with the toyota type iv fluid. Investigate if the previous owners put the right fluid. Try what I did above and see what happens :s
  6. Thanks alot for the GREAT INFO!! VERY HANDY Unfortunately I couldnt get the 3 screws out of the throttle body :( and one of the screws almost got messed up! So instead I sprayed contact cleaner in the small hole leading to the iacv butterfly and kept moving the small wheel that moves the iacv open-close while spraying. It got better but I would have rather took the whole thing and cleaned it well. I used contact cleaner for the electric wire cables and valvoline carb cleaner thats safe on O2 sensors. The car got alot better, but I still want to get the 3 screws out of the throttle body after i get some tools from sears :D
  7. I have the same problem, it doesnt start right away and currently I am having low idle speeds. I am going to clean the IACV but if didnt solve the problem I think I will start diagnosing the fuel pump.
  8. I recently bought a used 99 RX300 first thing I did replace the tranmission fluid afetr readign what you all were experiencigg. first thing I tried the drain, i unplugged the plug and let it drain it was ok but not alot of fluid so i took the whole trabsmission pan off(18 screws, easy to take out but pain in the neck and hands :s) after taking the pan out the filter is right there, now I knew there is fluid in the filter and on top of it, but it was not dripping alot so i took off the filter and replaced it with a new filter I bought online last week. Well!!! AFTER TAKING THE FILTER OUT THE WHOLE FLUID RUSHD OUT! It seemed that the filter was very dirty and great I did it right on time! Now that I tired drain and complete filter replacement I think replacign the filter every say 15000 is the best thing to do and it is cheap if you buy it online, the whole procedures took me 2 hrs most of the tiem trying to take out the 18 screws. Hope this helps...
