sambo_jones Posted July 24, 2007 Share Posted July 24, 2007 Hi there i got a problem with my 1998 ls400 i only have 1 master key and the battery is starting to die i was wondering if i can change the battery in the remote or will that wipe out the chip data on it? should i just go ahead and order one of those keys that are precut using the vin and then just program it myself so i don't risk losing the data on my only working key? -sami Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

sonyman Posted July 25, 2007 Share Posted July 25, 2007 The battery is simply for the remote functions, and all data is stored in non-volitile memory.
