anitafagina
I recently notice a few address on my LS430 isn't showing up like it supposed to on my RX350. After inquiring with dealership, they said it will cost me $450 for the disc and $89 for the install. I own both vehicles and both discs. Is there a way to backup the RX350 nav disc and use it on my LS? Will Alcohol 120/double-layer dvd disc combination work for backing up the DVD? Thanks, Anita. tonystewart
2007 RX350 is a Generation 5 dvd http://www.lexus-parts.com/partlist.asp?Su...amp;ModelID=161 2004 LS430 is a Generation 4 dvd http://www.lexus-parts.com/partlist.asp?Su...amp;ModelID=105 They are not interchangeable. As you can see from the links the price for the disc is $299. You install it yourself, less than 10 minutes, and save yourself a bit of cash and avoid the "stealership". Backups can be made but I would only recommend the following media: Verbatim 8X DVD+R DL. It is the "only" consistently reliable media that works in new and older Lexus Navigation systems. Believe this to be fact. Cheers!

LOL "stealership", I want to do it myself...is there a install CD or just some on-screen display button sequence that I need to follow to install the Generation5 DVD? Can you please point me to the right direction? Backups can be made but I would only recommend the following media: Verbatim 8X DVD+R DL. I have some SONY DVD+R DL "AccuCORE", but I can go out and get some Verbatim as you described. What sort of program did you use? (assuming you did this before successfully) Will Alcohol 120% work? Or did you use some other software? Thanks again. Anita
