stevedouga Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I just recently bought a 2002 IS 300. I want to buy rims that will leave little room between the top of the tire and the fender. Discount tire told me the biggest I could go was a 19" w/35 series tires. Does this sound right? Is a 19" rim really the biggest I can without hindering my turn radius, or srubbing anywhere? Has anyone ever put 20's on there IS 300? Thanks in advance!
smooth1 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 You can get a 20" rim on it. There is a guy in here that did it. But I don't see why you would want to. The ride is way to harsh I think. 19" is the real max and of course I'm talking if you don't want to change the outside dimension of the tires. That's where you generally run into trouble. If you want less space in the well I would go with 18, maybe 19 at the most, and a 9-9.5'' wide rim, then lower the car an inch. That's the look you want in my opinion.
