2 Red Led Indicators On Instrument Cluster

I've recently acquired a 2006 GS 430.

The car has 2 leds centered on the instrument cluster housing generally below the speedo and tach. respectively.

When the ignition is in the on position they flash alternately a couple of times then go out. Today the left one

flashed, a chime rang a couple of times, then it went out. For the life of me, I can't figure out what it was telling me.

I've scoured the book and find nothing documented, nor do these LED's show up in the diagram of the dash in the manual.

I'm thinking it may be an after-market add-on courtesy of the original owner (and I don't know who that is unfortunately.)

Can anyone venture a guess as to what cool gizmo my car has that I don't know about???
