Oil Pan Bolt

Recommended Posts

Get a new plug, The pan threads are harder than the plug, So the plug is what strips first. If you want pull the pan off and tap it out and put a larger plug in. I wouldn't recommend doing this while the pan is on (metal filings).

this happend to mine a while back.

I took the pan off, and while i was there go head and replce your oil pan gasket if it needs it. And use some cylicone or soemthing, and as far as the hole rethread it again and it will work fine.

I had the same problem to one of my old cars long time ago. I used Teflon tape and rolled along the threads in layers before bolting it back in.
