  1. Broke again, and I was not able to fix it. I need a replacement belt. I called dealer and they wanted about a lot. any idea where i can get one cheaper. it is ivory in color. thanks
  2. fixed it. It was a cog that was not on track. It was in the section that said "do not open".
  3. 2000 rx 300 passenger seatbelt will not retract. It went in, but will not come out. called dealer and $215.00 for new one. Is there anything else I can do cheaper?
  4. Cartrider, Let me know if this works, for I just bought one too from mykeyless for my 2000 rx 300. ds
  5. i think you can pick one up on ebay for cheaper price. Thanks for the information. I saw on this forum about programing it. Has anyone here done that and was successfully?
  6. Where is this fuse located. Antenna will not come up and will look at fuse first. thanks,
  7. Just bought 2000 rx 300 with 77000 miles. One problem is that it only came with one key. Where can I find another one? I called the dealer and he has one for about $200.00. We have a 98 ex 300 with an extra remote. Anyway the remote will work with the RX? ds
  8. It has become very clear that the '99 RX300 has some sort of serious transaxle design flaw that results in many (probably still a minority) of them failing "prematurely" in the range or 70-80,000 miles. Toyota/Lexus has made no admission of same other than oftentimes compensating, in some manner, owners of failed transaxles outside the warranty. It appears to be indeterminant as to whether the '00 and later models of the RX300 series might or might not be subject to these failures. The fact that Toyota/Lexus adopted DBW with the RX330 probably addressed the failure issue since factory reps have said that DBW is used to "protect the drive train". But I can tell you that the ATF in my 2001 AWD RX300 looked and smelled burned at only ~40,000 miles and I drained and refilled it. My 2001 had no requirement for ATF drain and refill but Bellevue Lexus insisted it needed to be done every 15,000 miles, EXTREME IMMHO. But the factory rep verified that yes, the 15,000 mile term was correct. So here I am at ~65,000 miles, checking the ATF condition upon each oil change, awaiting the coming day (soon?) my transaxle will need to be replaced/repaired. I ran a car fax on it, and it appears that it has about 25000 miles on it since repaired. is this a good sign? d
  9. My wife and I are looking at a RX 300 year 2000. Runs and looks great. it has 74k miles. The price is excellent but it has a salvage title. That does not scare me off due to the way the car runs. The person has had this car about a 1 year and stated no problems. Any ideas from anyway for what i need to look at? thanks inadvance for any help. ds
  10. I have a 98 es300. changed the oil and now bolt will not tighten. I think that it must be stripped. Any ideas for the cheapest way to fix it. thanks
  11. thanks, this has been very helpful. all of you do a great job with your information!
  12. I just read this code in my 98ES300. Any ideas what this may mean? thanks for any help.
  13. True it uses the same ATF fluid; but, there are 2 drains and (1) fill location. He needs to drain both. They are both filled at the same location (through atf dipstick). ← Thanks Mburn and Toys. I just drained the Trans 10/15/05, when can I drain both plugs this time. Lastly, can you tell me about how much fluid I will need to put in to fill both up? This is a great site for me. thanks
  14. thanks for the information. I will search what has been said about the flush. I am sure that I will post more questions in the future.
  15. Just bought a 98 ES 300 with 130,000 miles. I saw that the fluid was last changed at 15,000, so I changed the Trans Fluid today. I was going to change the Diff also, but could not find the fill hole. I Looked all over for it, and I even called the dealership. I found the drain plug, but not the fill. Is there anyway this one could be one that you fill with the trans? thanks,
