Fredo24 Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 What is the story with the LX 450's alarm? It constantly goes off when I leave the truck and come back and open one of the doors. I am not arming it, is there a way to prevent this from happening? Also my alarm does not "chirp" when arming and disarming. I read in another thread that the device is located on the dirivers side fender but I was unable to locate it. Can anyone give me a better description of the device and tell me how much it would cast to replace? Thanks for you time.

I think you can adjust it so it doesn't. Look under the drivers seat and find out what alarm unit you have. It's a little black box and should have to name and info on the side. Might be able to direct you to a link for a manual for it.I read in another thread that the device is located on the dirivers side fender but I was unable to locate it. The chirping pieso is located inside the engine compartment, in the area down below where the brake fluid reservior is. It's a little cylinder shaped object about the diameter of a quarter and about an 1 inch long, with a wire clipped to it. I think mine is red and black. I'd say you could get a replacement at Radio Shack for less than $10.Regards, Rookie
