TM8000 Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Is there anybody who has ever cared or even thought about Lexus(or Toyoya) if it is made in the U.S. or in Japan? I personally prefer the one made in Japan, but has someone ever heard that Lexus or Toyota made in the U.S. has more technical problem than the one manufacturerd in Japan?
SKperformance Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 No Lexus is made in America. Only one model is made outside of Japan and it is the RX in Ontario Canada. The vehicles are made to the exact same specs. the differences come in the makes of the parts that are sourced in North America. Some of the parts are not as perfectly made as the Japanese sourced ones as American companies don't seem to feel building quality is as important as the bottom line
TM8000 Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 Thank you for your comment, SKperformance! You are right and only RX is manufacturered outside Japan but not in the U.S..
Rx330driver Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 hehe my rx was made is Japan. I was one of the earlier buyers. And im glad i did.
SKperformance Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 You can still get an RX from Japan now it is all about certain features/options which are only part of the Japanse build line that is not i Canada.
denslexusgx470 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Very true. Some RX units are still made in Japan, but I think the hybrids are definitely still made in Japan. I am very picky on where my car is built. You all know that I was in the car buying process last year, right? Well since we were kinda forcing another car into the family, with just a small extra budget, so that's why the decisions with the Sienna, Pilot, 4Runner, CRV, Odyssey, and Highlander aren't the best choices. Not all of them are made in Japan. Luckily the decision went with the 4Runner, so all my vehicles are made in Japan! All japanese, 4-6-8 vehicles 4 (4cylinder Ody) 6 (6cylinder 4Runner) and 8 (8cylinder GX470). :P :P :P :P :P
