Clear Coat On Window Frame Of Es300

Between the front and rear doors of my 99 es 300, the black clear coat appears to be fading badly. How do I fix this?

wetsand then either paint it with a new coat of black and clear or just go straight clear over it.

It is called a piller. Like SK stated you could paint it, but I think spending the $36 (I think) is better worth the time, effoct, better looks etc. This part is known for this defect, per say.

I forgot the simpler way of fixing it which is to go to a sign store and get some black vinyl which would be quick and last more than a few years for less than $10
