Looking For 1995 Nakamichi Wiring Harness (plugs)

Recommended Posts

I am upgrading my Panasonic cassette-only head unit to the Nakamichi, and adding a Nak sub, amp and es300 6 cd changer of the same year. I've got the wiring harness out of the back of the Nak head unit, the wiring into the cd changer - but I don't have the wiring for the three connectors coming out of the Nak amp.

I'm assuming I will need new speakers (6) - the four in the doors and the two on the rear deck, since I believe the Nak amp is a four ohm unit.

So in addition to the wiring harness for the amp, and a set of four ohm speakers, is there anything else any local experts think I'll need? Do I need special wiring to the 6 other speakers?

I've contacted several eBay sources for Lexus parts, to no avail.

I've also gotten the impression from my long-time local installer (very reputable and does great work) that this is day-plus effort, since the old head unit powered the speakers directly, and new wiring will need to be run to the trunk for the amp and back out to all speakers.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or potential sources.

Do you need just the connectors ? Or do you need the wiring harness ?

I guess I'm not sure of my terminology here - but the installer tells me in an ideal world he'd love to have both the connectors and the full string of wiring back out to each component and up to the head unit - or as much as can be reasonably acquired. I'd need the connectors at minimum, since my unit came without them.

On the cassette door the number is NP1607. I have two replacement units to choose from - one has the date of 1992 on a chassis label. The other has a more recent serial number, so I'm guessing a more recent year, but it doesn't have a date on the chassis.

Can I use aftermarket 4 ohm speakers? I do have the Nak subwoofer, which I plan to use in place of the stock 8" sub.

Thanks.
