kqueue Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Hi, I need to replace the 2 personal light's bulbs (interior lights flanking the dome light) in my 2002 GS300. Does anyone know how I can open up the panel to gain access to the bulbs so I can replace them myself. I tried googling for some info but could not find any. TIA.
kathleenkmh Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I have the same question. It seems no one answered your post and today is the 30th. Can someone please have mercy??? :cries:
dcfish Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I have the same question. It seems no one answered your post and today is the 30th. Can someone please have mercy???:cries: They simply pry out. It takes a little force and it is best to use a electrical tape wrapped wide screwdriver.

I just replaced mine (both) in my 2002 GS430. In the front right of the clear plastic you will see a little groove that will accept a small blade screw driver, GENTLY pry the plastic down and then front left, move to the sides and work the front down. Once you get this far it becomes clear since you can see the tabs. The rest is simply replacing the bulbs and reinstallig the plastic dome. Go slowly and avoid any gouges in the trim pice. DD

DD yup, be careful. you can get away with it by using some tape on the end of a flathead as someone said above. but what i'd do a little differently is pry from one corner to the next. the plastic is very easily cracked. just be careful.
