hocky
Recently, the check Engine is on, my mechanic pulg in the computer and see the code to be "System Run Lean". He believes the sensor or gas filter may be bad. Does this make sense? And it is, does the sensor come under warranty for power train one? Thanks
JPI
It's your Mass Air flow sensor that is bad. If it's under 4 yrs 50k miles then it's under warr. Otherwise you have to buy the Mass air flow sensor. JPI

Yang1815
How do you clean/install a new MAFS??? I haven't touched anything on the RX yet... My check engine light's on but I think it's because I didn't screw in the gas cap tight enough to the point it clicks last time... I was in a hurry... Thanks! Kara
hi, I have a 2001 RX and the check engine light came on at about 30K. I took it to the dealer and he said it was the temperature sensor. He replaced (still under new car warrenty). The next day, the light came on again. Took it back, turned out the thermostat (or whatever goes with the temp sensor) was faulty too. The computer diag didn't specify whether both parts had to be replaced or not. Hope that helps, Kara
