donald3 Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 the light went on when I changed the oil - how do I get rid of it?
tansupplyman Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 Try disconnecting the battery for about 15 sec. That may work. Advise
Rich Sweitzer Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 If it were my car I would want to know why the engine light came on before I reset the engine ECU. That's not normal after an oil change.
VBdenny Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 Did you check your dipstick to make sure the oil level is correct. The 4.0 engine uses 5 and 2/3 qts of oil. If the level is low or high that might cause it to come on. I agree that it is not normal for it to come on after an oil change
VMF Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 may b its just a coincidense. there is no possible contact with anything when u change oil:)
VBdenny Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 I have to agree that's it's probably just a coincidence. This goes against my grain because I don't believ in them. You may have to go get a code check to see what is going on. I'll try to look up some info and post it later. Going to the junkyard in a little while
