RexyLexy415 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Hello there everyone..just wanted to get some feedback on overdrive..When you go on the freeway, do you put the overdrive on? My main concern was just to save on gas. So do you guys normally have it on or off. Or would it just be as good as turning it off on the freeway?
SKperformance Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 It is best to use "D" for all driving conditions and selecting the o/d off for when you are going to down shift.
Micah Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 You only turn O/D off if you are towing something or the transmission is doing a lot of shifting b/w drive and overdrive (3 and 4). 3rd gear is with the switch off, 4th with it on. You would get worse milage with o/d off.
Homer 94sc300 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 city driving i deffinatley use it, or anything 45mph or less. otherwise i feel like its going from 3rd to 4th and back to often. when its off it prety much just means it stops shifting at 3rd gear, right? or does it acually have more power in those low gears???
