sramnari Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 My mechanic stated that my broken air/fuel sensor located in the front of the engine is not a problem. I just wanted to get a second opinion.
piggyncsu Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 explain more why u need a second opinion. why did you have it looked at in the first place, etc etc
steviej Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 sramnari: by ???, I think sk is asking what do you mean by air/fuel sensor. If not, then I am asking. perhaps your mechanic means the oxygen sensor that is located in the front bank? the O2 sensor does play a part in air/fuel mixture calculations. Why do you think it is broken, is/was the check engine light on and the code retreived indicating a bad O2 sensor? steviej
sramnari Posted August 15, 2003 Author Posted August 15, 2003 Ok, thanks stevie. My check engine&trac off light came on. The lights go on and off. I had a mechanic check out the code which came up as p 1133. On the computer print out it comes up as the air/fuel sensor. Is there not such a sensor or is it also referred to as O2 sensor of which I know there is three.
JPI Posted August 15, 2003 Posted August 15, 2003 It is indeed your bank 1 sensor 1. This sensor located by the firewall on the exhuast manifold. Here is a little quick tip; Bank 1 the one in the back: Cylinders 1, 3 and 5 Bank 2 the one in the front: Cylinders 2, 4 and 6 All of the toyota V6 are the same way. Have a good day. JPI
