Hot Picks For New Mods

Recommended Posts

So I picked up a 400 and wanted to get your advice on my first new mods.

1. Wheelz: 20's vs. 22's I'm looking at a set of 20's...I would like 22's, but am afraid they will be too sloooow (does anyone here run 22's?). Also is 8.5" on all four wide enough?

2. Coilovers: Any good advice on a solid set of coilovers? I am most concerned with a comfortable ride.

3. Intake: I've been looking at the SRT intake, is there a better one, or does the K&N work just as good?

4. Headers: Does anyone make a set of headers for the V8?

5. Torque Converter: I haven't been able to find much about the TC for the 400, is it worth the $$?

6. System: Looking at JL10W7's with a JL1000wx1 fiberglassed in...any advice on dealing with the trunk and dynomat...Is there anyone that knows if 10's or 12's sound better in the GS?

Ok so in exchange for the free advise I will post pics when I get more than a stock model.

Thanks!

unless u'r going 2 get airbags and cut out the fendors area 22's won't fit. i'd just do 20's

intake srt is probably the best intake 2 get but its the most xpensive out there.

coilovers depends if u r really concerned with comfort like i was, go teins cs one of the softest out there. i love them.

headers haven't seen anything 4 400's

tc is very worth it. great instant boost , that and the srt should b great

Thanks for the advise Blue.

Would you happen to know where to get a TC cheap? (PM)

Also, did you dynomat your whole ride, or just the trunk area?

I'm thinking that the doors don't need it like my old Honda.

By the way...that is a sick ride, got any more pics?

If you want a comfortable ride there are several popular coilovers:

1. Tein CS

2. HKS LS+ (just came out, has adjustable stiffness, standard LS does not have this)

3. Apexi WS (cannot be adjusted for stiffness, but give very good comfort)

I have the Apexi WS on my GS300. With 17s they feel too soft. With 18s they will perfect :)
