anewman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 In case anyone is thinking about minor plus sizing (larger wheel) their wheels and tires, Here is my 2 cents. I have a 97 ES300 that had the original 15x6 inch chrome 5 spoke wheels and 205/65/15 tires. After 10 years of wear and tear (not to mention salt damage) the chrome started pealing and causing air to leak, so I decided to give it an update. I went with 17x7 (+45 offset)- 7 spoke chrome wheels from a 2007 ES , with 215/50/17 Yokohama Avid V4S tires. I LOVE IT. The change totally updated the look and feel of an already pristine car, with absolutely no rubbing (as you would get from bigger or wider wheels/tires). (The car is not lowered.) Hope this helps anyone looking to slightly plus size, or update their 97-02 ES.
steviej Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 anewman, your post would be so much more awesome if YOU POSTED A PICTURE of the 17s. They must look real nice. :chairshot: Buuut, we don't know that, do we. (I just playing with ya). Please post pics. steviej
99lexus Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Hi Anewman, Are you still around in the forum? When you upgrade to 17, do you loose a lot of drive quality. How much harsher ride you get, compage to the 15 stock wheels? Thanks,
