Alex JB
Hi All, I'm another UK LS400 owner that is invading your space! I'm quite new to my LS too and I'm having fun sorting out her little problems, apart from the rear window... My LHS rear window only goes down not up! I have had the door card off and put 12v on the window motoe to drive it back up and it went up fine. The switch on the drivers door does nothing for the window and just the one on that door drives it down only. (I found this out on the motorway when my 18month old boy figured out the button and wound it down then cried untill I stopped at the motorway services! After dismantling a cigarete lighter based phone charger and lots of cursing I drove the window back up!.) I swapped switches from RHS rear door to LHS rear door and problem stays on LHS door... Anyone else had an issue like this? I've ordered a CD manual off e-bay so hoping the wiring diagram could help :(

Anyone else had an issue like this? I've ordered a CD manual off e-bay so hoping the wiring diagram could help :( I have the same problem on my 91 Acura Legend. The drivers side rear window will roll down but not back up. I did the same thing you did to get it up. Used speaker wire and connected to my battery terminal for power to stick the wire in the hole to get the window back up. One shop told me I need a new regulator. I don't see how. I got a thread from someone stating that you have to clean the wiring from the front drivers door to the back with some sort of spray because it may be corroded and this may solve the problem. I never did it because it was too much work and I'm just lazy.
Alex JB
Thanks for the diagram :D Have just diconnected it for now (so the little fella cannot roll it down again!). May consider just re-wiring so it just works from the rear door only, 12v supply is there, sure it could be done. :D

I got my manuals on CD this morning so checked the wire diagram UK/US = same for windows. Winding down is blue (+12v common) to blu/yel (works ok) and up is blue to grn/yel = not working Also master switch does not work either way... The diagram suggests 12v is connected by blu/yel to grn/yel for up and grn/yel to blu/yel for down. The wires suggests that the grn/yel wire bteween door and master switch is broken. Just need to rip half the interior out now to follow the continuity back to the break!
Alex JB
Fixed! connector under seat This connector under the LHS rear carpet had got some moisture in it, over time connectors have oxidised hence no continuity on just the one wire. bit of jiggery pokery and a jumper wire later... All fixed.
dfkd
Nice job! Electric stuff is normally frustrating to track and fix but you made small work of that!

All fixed. Yeah, that's sort of what they told me in the thread. I knew it wasn't the regulator because the window wouldn't be able to roll up at all if so. So now I have to get the energy you have and take all that stuff apart to fix the wiring. But my wire runs behind the seatbelt harness. So I have to take all of that crap apart. Man I'm lazy.
