I'm Back With My Rx350 And Need Some Help

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. My last post was in March just before I picked up my new RX350 in Breakwater Blue Metallic with the sport package. I had been driving BMWs for the last 10 years and my last car was the X5 but I did not like the new X5 that was coming out. This is my first Lexus and it is not bad at all. The sport package makes a big difference in the handling as well as the increased power of the new engine. Very nicely put together and the Lexus customer service is definitely better than BMW.

Does anybody know how to turn off the "Maintenance Required" light? I just had the car serviced and the light came on a few days later. This happened before and the service guy showed me but I don't remember the sequence. It had something to do with pushing a button (odometer?) and turning the key 2 or 3 times in the ignition????

Thanks for the help. :) :)

okay, here it is

1. take key out of ignition

2. Push in your trip reset button (hold it)

3. Put key in ignition and turn on but do not start car

4. Keep holding trip reset button for about 20 seconds the light will come on steady then go out.

5. your done.

  • 1 year later...

I have about 4,600 miles on my 08 RX 350. Today the 'Maintenance Required' light started flashing when I started it up, and then went off after a few seconds. Is this just reminding me that my 5K maintenance is coming up soon, or could this be something more serious?

Is this feature designed to come on at or near the 5K mile intervals as a reminder to take the vehicle in for regularly scheduled maintenance?

I googled this question, and scoured my owner's manual with no luck..

Thanks!
