ragabnh Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Is there any difference between front and back rotors? Or I have a set of front rotors, can I install it in the rear wheels? Thanks
Ross W. Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Is there any difference between front and back rotors? Or I have a set of front rotors, can I install it in the rear wheels? Thanks The brake rotors are completely different front to back. They are different diameters, and the rear brakes have an integral brake drum for the parking brake.

One more question, can the rear rotors be resurfaced.

One more question, can the rear rotors be resurfaced. Yes they can. but you need to check the thickness of the rotor. If it is too warped, then you need a new rotor. And yes.. your rear rotor is usally larger because it needs to house ur parking brake and etc;. 1
SKperformance Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Just buy a new set of rotors it is relatively cheap for aftermarket ones. The rear rotors diameter is smaller but it has a larger hub to hold the parking brake . While the front one is larger diameter as it does most of the braking.

cmshoot Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I'm looking at new rotors/pads myself. Are the cross-drilled/slotted rotors worth it? I was looking at a rotor & pad package from a company called R1 Concepts in California. Anyone familiar with these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus-LS400...006164284QQrdZ1
