TonyP
I recently took my GS to the dealer to diagnose an oil leak I noticed (car still under warranty). Dealer concluded that I had a leak in the No. 1 (upper) oil pan seal. They also stated that the repair involves 18 hours of labor! Can someone explain what is involved with this repair? Just seems like a lot of work to remove an oil pan.
GuyTelefunken
You best go to church and thank god you are still under warranty. You have to remove the engine and transmission to get the upper oil pan off. Of course this involves removing and reinstalling a whole lot of things and draining and refilling all the fluids. Sounds like fun!!

Just seems like a lot of work to remove an oil pan. It shouldn't take 18 hrs. That is a quote from the manual. Did you know that the book says .5 hrs. to change a acc. belt on a gs300. It took me 2 minutes, And I am sure if I worked on cars all day long I could do it in 30 sec. Anyway, THANK GOD YOU ARE UNDER WARRANTY.
