Egr Temperature Sensor

Recommended Posts

My check engine light is on, blah blah, got the code for excessive flow. just recently replaced my egr valve and valve cover gaskets. mechanic says it could be the EGR temp sensor? I haven't gotten around to going back, but how much is this? I've never heard of it.

Sounds like the VSV that controls the EGR is partially stuck open.
I agree. My ES was still throwing an excessive flow code after replacing the egr valve. It turns out that the VSV was not working. Make sure to check the VSV before you replace it (for something like $60 or $70, and it's a quick and easy replacement.).
