wstr75
http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/04/30/bus....0430toyota.php Love my 400h but find it interesting how these folks say Toyota's transmission and electric motor set-up is less efficient at highway speeds than their design. Competition is good, eh?
katzjamr
Competition is good and the future will bring many versions of hybrid and alternative fuel design, the consumer ultimately decides what works best in their situation. None of them would be worrying about this had Toyota not invested the time and money ten years ago in the hybrid technology long before our present day fuel problems. Also i am curious to see what kind of gas mileage all the new systems will produce in the real world as none of them are available for testing. Finally i think that many of Toyotas competitors wanted to develop their own process rather than license from Toyota and pay thier main competitor money.
