Is 250 Engine Oil Requirements?

My dealer uses 10w30 in the IS 250 when changing oil. I am pretty certain it should be 5w30 as per the oil fill cap. Anyone know for sure?

What does it say in the owners manual?

I think you will find both to be acceptable but 5w-30 is more preferable in colder climates.

good fuel economy and good

starting in cold weather.

If SAE 5W-30 is not available, SAE

10W-30 may be used. However, it

should be replaced with SAE 5W-

30 at the next oil change.

Ahh, thanks I overlooked that section. I contacted the dealer and they said "we were out of 5w30"... long story short I had to go down their to have them replace it. Tri County Lexus in Little Falls NJ incase anyone care to know
