blackfiddy Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 i recently purchased a black IS 350 i was wondering if you guys have an tips on breaking the car in. also when u guys turn your car off do you hear any sounds from the engine. like popcorns being made under the hood somewhere. bartkat Posted February 12, 2006 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Break it in per the owners manual. Don't make hard stops for 100 miles and drive at varying speeds for the first 600 or so miles. I dont think he means like while hes turning off the car, but as he exits the car, you will definately hear something if the car has been on for 5 minutes or more. Its more like a ticking sound than popcorn really. :P Also, for hte first 5,000 miles, do not accel too fast, do not brake too fast, do not do anything stupid at all. lol. i think that sums it up Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
