yelodel
I just bought a 2003 IS300 and the first thing I want to do is improve the handling. I'm on a budget so I want to spend wisely. On Ebay, I just saw an Apexi coilover for sale and it looks great, but I don't know anything about them. Here's the link. Do these work good on the IS? Does anyone use these? I like the price, but I have no idea about how good they are. Or, should I just get some springs only and save even more money?
Pip
Coilovers are quite expensive depending on your needs. I have standard sport suspension and TTE anti roll bars which make a big difference to the handling.
ko90ls
coilovers are best for the suspension. they're a one-piece design using two different components and are designed to be more adjustable than a standard strut/spring setup. the two parts were in R&D at the same time meaning their compatibility is A+! i would say go for it if you want the best suspension. on the 1st Gen LS Coilover cost about $3k, where you can get a aftermarket spring/strut combo for about $450-600. very expensive but for good reason. there is even EDFC or something like that which allows you to lower the car from inside! personally i say use the best materials, get the best results!
