Lkevon Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 lefty, you have to specify which gs you have! 1st or 2nd gen gs as they have different tranny's? i think 1st gen gs uses dexron type fluid which have compatible synthetic for that type. while the 2nd gen "98+" gs uses toyota type t-iv fluid. i've tried to find a compatible fluid for the type t-iv but with no luck!!! well, hope this helped a bit!!!!
lefty Posted July 29, 2003 Author Posted July 29, 2003 Oh no, I have a 99 GS300 and I used mobil one synthetic in the tranny, it's been running with it for like 20k miles... what's going to happen/what kind of damages??? I really messed up!!!!
dcfish Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 :D :D :D i use redline syn in my tran 98gs300 always have and always will i also use NEO syn for my motor oil 5w 30 in the winter and 10w in the summer the best , I also use evans waterless coolant year round -boils at 350 and gells at 40 below. great stuff all around dc
