  1. it's simple....get the gs400/430 :) ! might be cheaper if you would just sell the 300 and get the gs4 series!!!
  2. can't go wrong with piaa xtreme whites for both the inner parkings!
  3. thats cool...just do not neglect the maintanence service intervals and it'll run forever :D !!!!
  4. same story lefty, which gs do you own? but in general, i've tried drop-in filters with other vehicles i've had in the past and haven't noticed any gains power. but noted some gains in mpg. if you are interested in overall performance gains "power and fuel" use the funnel type cold air intake systems!!!
  5. lefty, you have to specify which gs you have! 1st or 2nd gen gs as they have different tranny's? i think 1st gen gs uses dexron type fluid which have compatible synthetic for that type. while the 2nd gen "98+" gs uses toyota type t-iv fluid. i've tried to find a compatible fluid for the type t-iv but with no luck!!! well, hope this helped a bit!!!!
  6. try ----www.autotrader.com. they usually have many used gs's for sale there!
  7. congrats on your purchase ba, looks clean from the pix. what is the mileage on it?
  8. matthew, my gs is a 99' and it also cuts off at the us/cdn border! maybe we can get a free upgrade as stated previously by steve@lextasy.com as my gps map has never been upgraded before!!! you can access the date of the map version by pressing menu, navi option and at the top left corner touch map info!!!! hope this helped a bit!!! kevin
  9. try diconnecting the battery and re-connecting it after a min or so. it should reset or refresh the ecu. it will erase the driving pattern that the computer picked up!!!!!!
  10. hmm, interesting. so does that mean only the euro versions have the backup system?
  11. or you can mix a 50/50 mixture of mid and premium grade to save that extra penny :) to get 91. but i would rather spend the little extra $$$ for my lex!!!
  12. i think lexus started incorporating the drive by wire technology on their gs 01' + . it is called electronic trottle control system-intellegent "etcs-i".
  13. thanks, perhaps it is just called mirror type ! i'm also looking for a lighter type tint that you can visiblely see inside like the rx's!!!!
  14. hey bluelex, what kind of tint are those? it does look like it has a lil reflection to it!!!! i'm looking for similar tint almost like the 1's on the rx300's like a miror but not silver!!!!!
  15. what's up rx owners , i came over from the gs forum with a question! most rx300's rear passenger window have this clear mirror like tint on them unlike the silverish 1's you see on honda's! i'm interested in getting that type of tint on my gs. so do any of you guys know the name or color of the tint? thanks, kevin
  16. you should have the charging system checked out. most no-start conditions are linked to the charging system and go from there!!!!!
  17. i've had cross drilled rotors in the past and haven't noticed much differences from stock rotors. i think drilled/slotted rotors is probably of a better choice!!!
  18. i think the ecu is included with their intake and i don't think the ecu is sold as a unit alone. the ecu recalibrates the computer for optimum air/fuel mixture for best performance. i do have the video. but i think you should pm gslx4s for the clip!!!!
  19. Welcome to L.O.C, One thing that I think is a must to change on all GS's are the parking lights bulbs "the 2 smaller lights between the headlights". The factory bulbs are too dim and yellow which does not match the color of the headlights and it definetly is a must if you have HID on your GS. I reccomend using PIAA extreme white! They match quite well and you can do this very easy too!!!
  20. m2pc, i think the guys at the es300 forum can help you better on this.
  21. welcome to l.o.c, as for wheel suggestions, i also have 18's on my gs4 and i personaly think they look kinda small on the gs. i'm considering going up to 19 or 20".
  22. umm...i think gs300 and gs400 use the same type fluids! i recall helping my buddy change his 98' gs300 with toyota type t-iv fluid which are the same with my gs400. double check the manual before putting in the wrong type!!!
  23. ofcourse the quality compared to lexus oem parts are unmatched. But it's not too bad at all and I think It'll do it's job!!! $50...wow, didn't think it would cost that much in the 1st place!!!! for the price you can purchase 3 with change :) !!!
