3m Protection Kits For The Paint And Headlights

Recommended Posts

I have a 06' IS 350 and I want to protect the paint job. So I bought the Perma Plate for the paint job and the interior from the dealer. But this protection won't protect against rocks from chipping the paint job.

Has anyone out there protected thier cars with 3M's protection films? If so was it worth it? Did the film discolor? And what's a good price to pay for this job. I found a web site (www.clearmask.com) to buy the stuff and I found a place to put it on for me. Is it worth the money for a professional to put it on, or is it easy to do your self?

Any one out there with some info please reply.

Well, I'm getting it done. The total cost is $825.00. It includes the front of the hood, all the front bumper, head light and fog light, A-pilars with front top of roof, and top of rear bumper.

Versus of me doing it for $500.00.

I will let you know how it turns out.

I've used it in th epast on other cars. Sometimes on White & Sliver cars it can appear to yellow. I had it on a Dark Green A6 and it was almost invisible. I will be putting it on my Red IS whenver the car comes in. My dealer wants $695 to do the hood and mirrors. They claim they can't do the front bumper because of its curves. I'll be going to a local shop.
