lexus082 Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 While I'm driving I notice that when I take my foot off the accelerator and then lightly hit the gas there's like a thump sound that comes from the rear end. Its like something engages too late after I step on the gas. Acceleration and shifting is fine, it just seems something is loose or has too much play in it. I am not too familiar with a rear wheel drive cars, and I am not sure as to how to diagnose this. Could it be that the drive shaft has too much play? Just feels like something has too much play. Any suggestions would be great, b/c I dont have a clue. Is there anything other than the drive shaft that could have too much play in it? Thanks

lexus082 Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 Check you engine and transmission mounts. How many miles does your car have? I have about 160,000, I've read on the forums that there's a couple people with the similiar problem and they found it was related to the drive shaft. I'm sure my mounts need to be replaced also though.
