Swapping 1999 Rx 300 Head & Tail Lights For Newer

Hey, I'm new to the Forum and own a 1999 RX300. I'd like to install 2003 (or so) tail lights and head lights (to get the crome look) and understand that it takes only a connector swap on each. Can anyone advise us on this?

Bill

I don't know if that is correct but Ebay has sellers that offer a chrome trim kit for your existing lights. Going to buy myself a set. Just have not gotten around to it...

I'm a bit confused. What's a "trim kit" ?

The tail lights can be replaced since the size of the 99-00 unit is the same as the 01-03. I believe they connect but not 100% sure (but it has been done!)

With the headlights, you need to make sure you get the units that are NON-HID.

Ebay has them all the time.

(they don't currently have a RH W/O HID headlight)

If you get the 01-03 front grill, chrome handles for the inside doors, rear bumper black cover and a wood/leather steering wheel and shift knob, you can make it look even more like the 01-03 rx300!

I've heard a lot of people doing that!

Here is one for example....

oh yeahhh, that's for the rx330 though. I don't believe there are any available for the rx300.

I am also interested in installing 01 to 03 clear tail lights on my '99 RX300.

Did you ever get any leads on how to do it and where to get a good buy on the more recent tail light models?

Or does anyone else know whether it can be done and how?

Thank you,

Floyd

Hi - I am also new to the forum and have been looking to replace the tail lights in a recently purchased '99.

Here is a link with a howto:

Here is a link for tail lights:

There are also tail lights on ebay but I am not sure of the quality. Let me know how it works out for you.
