sigmamason
Hello, This might be a dumb question or maybe it has been answered in another format, but I can't find it and I did a search. I am looking at a 2000 RX300 with 76K from a non-Lexus dealer. They are asking $17K for it. Giving the reliability of the RX300 series, is it worth it? I have seen the vehicle, looks ok, will take a test drive tomorrow. Need to get rid of the Focus that I have, which is not a bad vehicle, but it is way to small and I am a little old for the stick shift routine at 39... :whistles: This is my first post here, and I hope that you an help a newbie out... Thanks in Advance...
ritchieg
Recommend you check out used car values such as at http://www.kbb.com/ & see what they show as the value(s). Also check cars.com as well as local newspapers for similar cars in your area. Note: I have sold two cars using cars.com.

tmastres
I was pokling around the BB prices lately for 2000 RXs and if I remember they were around 14.5k for 65k miles and excellent condition. At 75k miles I'd say it'd be a little less. IMHO Since its not Lexus dealer I'd say you're good if you canget it for $15k maybe $15.5. But $17 seems a bit too high. lenore
If it is AWD stay away from it unless you want to pay $4300 for a transmission down the road. That is my warning to you from one that is on #3 trashmission. Get the two wheel drive version if you are absolutely in love with the Lexus RX300. Ericok
If it is AWD stay away from it unless you want to pay $4300 for a transmission down the road. That is my warning to you from one that is on #3 trashmission. Get the two wheel drive version if you are absolutely in love with the Lexus RX300. So I keep asking: If the RX300 transmission is so problematic, why are there no transmission problems posted on Toyota Highlander forums? It's the same unit.
