-bEn- Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Hey guys, I was on some other forums, and I came across this. It appears that aftermarkey HID kits are going to be made illegal? I read all the replies and some said they called in and were told it wasn't true. Can anyone shed any light on this? Read it here Might this be the time to buy HIDs for my 2001 GS300? I have not the slightest clue about how HIDs work. Can anyone give me any pointers/ recommendations?
SW03ES Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Wow, looks legitimate, and I dont put anything past the government... I'd buy them now, good pricing, why risk it?...
SKperformance Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 hid conversion kits are not legal or dot they never where or are as they have to have a level adjustment on them to be legal which the aftermarket ones don't but i still love mine
SW03ES Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 But it has been legal to SELL them for "off road or show use only". What they're saying is the sale of the kits is going to be banned.
SKperformance Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 hmm sorry for my ignorance i didn't read the article wife is always calling me lol it would be impossible to make it illegal besides on the road blue headlight bulbs are illegal but they are still sold here and tehy are utterly useless for the driver with them to see the road or what is ahead but it makes them think my lights look cool because it looks like hids
SW03ES Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 The government can easily put companies that sell HID kits out of business. I think we may want to do some more research on this. Maybe talk to a couple of companies that sell the HID kits, see if what the guy on the other site was saying is legit.
