Navi Maintenance

Ok, i have a 2004 rx330 and the problem is the Maintenance screen under the info button. It shows when you need a service and such and such. BUT! does it actually work? because I happen to know my brake pads need to be changed because they are squealing...but nothing shows up on that screen under BRAKE. just wondering is all. :D

The way I understand it, those are just timers and do not know what status any of that is at. Example, you can set the Oil to go off at 5000 miles or 4 months but it has no way of knowing if the oil is in good shape and could go a while longer or if it needs to be replaced sooner. Same for the other options like pads. You could say you want to change them every 2 years or x amount of miles and it would warn you around that time, but it doesn't know if they need it or not.

If I am mistaken, let me know.

That is exactly what it does. It is just a timer and not an actual check on the vehicle.

yeah that is useless, lol, i can ususally tell by the sticker on the upper left hand corner of my winshield :chairshot:
