anewname Posted July 16, 2003 Posted July 16, 2003 On the advice of a professional car restorer, I just ordered a tub of Connolly Hidefood. This stuff is supposed to be the absoule best thing for restoring leather to it's previous softness. Also, for before that, to get the dirt out, he said to use Lexol - I'm looking into that. In addition, according to this guy, everyone needs to throw away their armor all because it does more harm than good. :( -Dave

SW03ES Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 If you have a Pepboys locally, they have Lexol. In all honesty, you don't need it. If you mix one part Woolite (yep, the laundry stuff) to 6 parts water it makes a cleaner better than Lexol, at 1/10th the price. Its all I use to clean the entire interior of the car, except for chrome, wood, plastic and glass.

SW03ES Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 It is, it would replace the Lexol cleaner in the process. You should always clean before you condition though, even if you can't see the dirt.
