A/c Shuts Off When Drive Through Water!

Recommended Posts

2 things you may have a slipping belt causing the a/c to think the compressor is locked up

that is why the light blinks to indicate that

the second is maybe a wire for the compressor lock is getting shorted out

next time the puddle thing happens listen to see if the belt is squealing

yep, what he said.

sj

you can try this in your driveway. Open the hood while the car is running with the AC on. With a squirt water bottle, TRICKLE some water on the belt. See if the AC light flickers. Listen for the slippage of the belt.

It may be as simple as a new belt is needed or the tension needs to be adjusted.
