Overdrive Light

Hi

I have 1992 Lexus ES 300. When i put car on REVERSE, it run perfectly, But when put on D drive with Overdrive ON, O/D light flash On - off and car doesn't get accelerate quickly, RPM goes high. it has lost pick up :( . once car goes on above speed of 20 to 25 it runs perfectly.

Does anyone know what could be the problem with it?

What is problem with accelaration at start?

I Hope it is not a problem with transmission.

you need a new tranny

and everytime you let the rpms get higher to move more you are eating away at the clutches more

so very soon you will need a new tranny

Sounds like a problem only at the 1st gear.... check out shops that specialize in transmission service and see if there is any hope of working on it ..... you may not need to replace the whole thing.....

the problem is once one band of clutches go it plugs the filter and pick up causeing less pressure on the clutch plates

so there will be excessive wear on the others as well

besides once it is apart it is easy to change the parts

the labour is taking the trannny out mainly
