camlex Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Hello, Does anybody know how many years the CV joint boot will last? Everytime I change the oil, I always check and look at it and it looks good, but i never know when to change it. Any ideas? Thanks,
SKperformance Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 If it is oem about 5-7 years after market 3-4 Way too many variables for it to degrade though. Heat cold average temps turns and so on.
camlex Posted August 6, 2005 Author Posted August 6, 2005 Thank you SK This one has original from '97. Should I go head and change it or wait? How much it will cost? Thanks,
SKperformance Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 If the boot is recently ripped or cracked and no bearing play can be found then you only need to replace the boot not the whole axle. Get the OEM boot kit from toyota ,it is only about $70

SKperformance Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Rebuilt assemblies go from anywhere of 100rebuilt all the way to around 800oem.
