rfcbuf
Would gas mileage be improved on 2004 RX 330 if cross rails were removed from roof rack? If so, how do you remove cross rails?
4482
The second day after taking delivery on my 05 RX I removed the cross rails. I felt it would cut down on both wind noise and drag. As I had no intention of ever carrying anything on the roof racks, I figured why have them. After pulling towards the rear and up on the end rail pieces, I just undid the clips on the cross rails and slid them off the rear. I then reinstalled the two end pieces to the rails. If I ever need to reinstall the cross rails it would be a 5 minute job. ;)

soggy60
May also eliminate a noticable 'buzzy' sound from that area... Our cross rails do not 'tighten' down; there's a 1/32nd or so slop...
