smasood Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Hi, I have lexus ES300 for 2 years and I have driven approximately 20,000 miles. The transmission was rebuilt when I bought the car. It give me big KICK when car shifts from 1st to 2nd gear other gears are ok. The problem has not worsened in last 20,000 miles. I was wondering is there anything that can be done to make it smooth. If you know a reliable transmission mechanic in baltimore, MD, please give me contact. Thanks in advance.
SKperformance Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Sounds like a sticking throttle body from an incomplete rebuild.
Toysrme Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 I would take the dog-bone mount off and check it. Also check the kick-down cable. It should be in the middle of the adjsutment range. When rebuilt, they may have left it disconnected, or in wrong adjustment
