riordamp Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I just talked to someone at lexus and they told me that there is only one bushing on the steering rack that I can replace. This bushing will cost about $39. The parts person said that there were no other bushings listed meaning that if there were more, you would have to replace the entire rack. Is this true? Is the one bushing that can be replaced a likely culprit for steering vibrations? I will probably get rid of the car before I replace the entire steering rack. If I knew that this would fix the problem I might do it but I have already replaced LCMS and struts so I feel like I am on a fishing expedition. Lexus balanced tires that are pretty new. My chrome wheels have a little bit of wear (chipping) but the lexus man said this should not be causing the problem.
DomLee Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I thought there were 2? Todd w/ TM Engineering replaced 2 steering rack bushings for me (per the invoice) AND it was like $10/bushing (I think).
jzz30 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 there are 3 total but only 2 of them are the ones that really go bad i have a pic of the steering bushing that went bad in the like below. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=rack++bushings
