pwc
I apologize if this has been addressed before ... I searched the forum but couldn't find anything. I just picked up my new 2005 RX-330. Is the little black folding antenna on the roof damaged by taking the car through an automatic carwash? Does it need to be folded down (toward the front of the car) prior to entering a carwash? Anyone had any trouble with it? Obviously I haven't taken the car through a carwash yet ... just wondering what to expect. Thanks!

Booyah
It will be fine up! Most car washes are laser guided anyway and you dont want brushes beating you car anyway!
kh046
Just to be on the safe side, I fold it down all the time. Even though I tend to use the car washes where they hand wash your car on the way in there, it's better to be safe than sorry.
Rx-Fan
Just to be on the safe side, I fold it down all the time. ← That's what I do. Just fold it down and return to normal after the wash. No biggy. Probably wouldn't get snapped off in the wash - but just play it safe.
Booyah
There is no way it could get snapped off in the car washes that dont touch your car! If it gets that close you are going to have more damage than that little antenna:)
Archibalds
The antenna really needs to be unscrewed if you want to be safe. Folding it will not work all the time. I have had 2 of them break. The manual will tell you to remove it. Hope this helped
