  1. Buy the Lexus! If the SC 430 appeals to you then it should be easy to decide. The Mercedes has too much Chrysler in it now. The resale is better on the Lexus, the reliability and durability is far superior and truth is it is just a better top design. I have owned both so I do speak with some experience good luck, you will enjoy either one!
  2. Buy the warranty! but wait until it is almost out of basic warranty first. You can buy a warranty up until that point without needing an inspection. And if the warranty company lets you buy one after your warranty expires and does not require an inspection, run from that company. Now the thing you need to do is find a good warranty company. Make sure they are indemnified in your state so they cant go bankrupt on you, make sure you have wear and tear coverage, that is a big deal. Make sure it is cancellable and transferrable and what the limit on repairs is. All warranties will have a max on repairs and that will go fast if you have a well equipped car and some issues arrise. Oh and if you do buy one, always save every service record and do them by the book. If you are still on the fence when the time comes up. Drive by the Lexus dealer and look at all the cars in service. They are not all there for oil changes, they break and when they do it is extremely expensive to fix them. hope this helps Danny
  3. common problem, Lexus will do a swap out with you and give you a remanufactured stereo and take yours in exchange. And yes it is expensive, but it is the only fix outside of sending the stereo to a repair facitlity yourself and getting it fixed. If your other dash lights are working it is probably not a fuse they are not seperated at the fuse block good luck and if it were me I would get used to it and save the money. I have bought 3 of those exchange units for different cars and it is easier to get by with it if you can. hope this helps
  4. The antenna really needs to be unscrewed if you want to be safe. Folding it will not work all the time. I have had 2 of them break. The manual will tell you to remove it. Hope this helped
  5. It is behind the glove box in your 330
  6. Here is the real deal on smoke smell. There is no way to get the smell out. If it smells weird it could be two things. One it is smoke and jut now what you expect, secondly, some RX's get a strange odor that is hard to explain it is not smoke but it is not normal. The dealer might use an Ozone machine on a smoke smell car, but the smell of ozone will be present and not last long. Some cars made of cheap materials will be rid of smoke up to 90 percent. A Lexus however will never be rid of smoke smell. The sound insulation is way too dense. Now the burns tell you it is a smoked in vehicle. Now if it does not smell too bad for you then you simply need to get the burns fixed. I know this sounds scary to fix burns but today you can get the leather completely sanded down of color and refinished better then factory. Yes better then factory! You will have to be a nice person to get the dealer to let you use there interior guy to fix your car. Every dealer of high end cars has a vendor that does all the interior work so you can ask around and get it done. and as far as the plug missing, your salesperson that told you they dont have them was an idiot. You should get all pieces that came with the Lexus including all 4 keys rear cargo shade and manual. good luck
